A New Addition in the Reserve.

Posted on Sep 27th, 2009

After 2 months of eagar waiting and anticipation, M.J. finally brought her young cub out into the open for everyone to see.  The cub is estimated to be about 4 months old now but not one can know exactly. The cub will stay with mum for approximately 18 months at which time it will make its own way in life and separate from her.  The sex of the cub is still unknown and will remain untouched by AfriCat until at least 18 months old when it will be radio collared for research purposes like M.J. and the other leopards in the reserve.  The cub and mum remain very calm and relaxed around any game vehicles and all vehicles will keep a respectful distance too!  More updates to come on the cub which as yet is still unnamed.
